Amphibians are vertebrates, oviparous, and cold-blooded.
They have thin, bare skin, with no hair.
They live in both water and on land.

They are born in water, with gills.
Then they move to land when they grow lungs and legs.

Most amphibians breathe through lungs and their skin.
Their skin has to stay wet to absorb oxygen.
So, they secrete mucous to keep their skin moist
If they get too dry, they cannot breathe and will die.

Amphibians do not drink water.
They absorb water and oxygen through the skin.
